Jodie Bailey’s Glimpse Into Military Life (Episode 24)
On this episode of “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” I’m chatting Jodie Bailey. who writes stories about freedom and the heroes who fight for it. Her novels have won the RT Reviewers Choice Award and the Selah award. She’s convinced the beach, good coffee, and great books can cure all ills. Jodie lives in North Carolina with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
“My whole writing journey is this God-given thing,” Jodie said. “I was in contemporary women’s fiction, when my agent asked if I thought about writing military suspense. I walked to the coat closet, and I thought, ‘What if somebody was in my closet and it’s the good guy?’ Before I knew it, I had half a military suspense done in my head.”

On this episode of “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” I’m chatting with Stephanie M. Gammon, who fell in love with romantic suspense as a Sherlock-obsessed girl with bookshelves full of Grace Livingston Hill novels. She’s been writing ever since.

On this episode of “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” I’m chatting with Robin Patchen. Aside from her family and her Savior, Robin has two loves—writing and traveling. If she could combine them, she’d spend a lot of time sitting in front of her laptop at sidewalk cafes and ski lodges and beachside burger joints. She’d visit every place in the entire world—twice, if possible—and craft stories and tell people about her Savior. Alas, time is too short and money is too scarce for Robin to traipse all over the globe, even if her husband and kids wanted to go with her. So she stays in Texas, shares the Good News when she can, and writes to illustrate the unending grace of God through the power and magic of story.

On this episode of “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” I’m chatting with Michèle Olson, who has had a forty-year-plus career in advertising and marketing as a writer in all mediums, with an emphasis in health writing. She has also enjoyed a professional voice career including time as a DJ (yes, even when they still played records!) and has voiced local to national commercials and voice projects.
