Stephanie M. Gammon on Her Early Writing Influences (Episode 23)

On this episode of “The Romantic Side of Suspense,” I’m chatting with Stephanie M. Gammon, who fell in love with romantic suspense as a Sherlock-obsessed girl with bookshelves full of Grace Livingston Hill novels. She’s been writing ever since.

With the distinction of finaling in ACFW’s 2017 First Impressions contest under romantic suspense and placing third for RWA’s 2019 Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense, Stephanie writes stories laced with suspense and heart. Her debut novel, Treacherous Mountain Investigation, is on sale now.

Living in Cincinnati with her police lieutenant husband, four kids, two dogs, and two sassy parakeets, Stephanie owns a professional writing business and spends her free time learning and blogging about Jesus. Stephanie is represented by Cynthia Ruchti of Books & Such Literary Management.

“It is really cool for me that my husband is a police lieutenant,” Sherri said. “It makes it a lot less awkward for me because I don’t have to hunt down someone to get answers to my questions. But sometimes, it can be hard to pull the answers from him because it’s his everyday life and he doesn’t think about the details that I need for my writing.”

Listen to the podcast for more from our interview, plus an excerpt from Treacherous Mountain Investigation.
